Chronos e Kairos. An immersive experience between railway clocks and instant cinema.

The artistic performance, born from the synergy with Sofia and Roberto Agagliate and Fabrizio Cerutti, took the form of an imposing scenic installation.

The visual heart of the work consisted of nearly two hundred railway-style prop clocks, arranged across a large exhibition space to create an environment outside of time. The clocks, with their hands frozen at different hours, transformed the pavilion into a metaphysical set dedicated to exploring the two dimensions of time: Chronos (objective measurement) and Kairos (the subjective time of the soul).

The installation offered visitors the unique opportunity to shift their role from observers to protagonists of a cinematographic work. After providing initial preferences—such as the first letter of their name, a favorite color, season, and time of day—participants physically entered the set, moving among the clocks according to their instinct. This "temporal walk," captured by a multi-camera system, became a spontaneous acting performance where every pause and gesture contributed to defining the visual narrative of their personal short film.

The Chronos e Kairos installation represented one of the most complex production challenges of the 2023 edition. In just two days of opening, the algorithmic system generated and delivered over 200 personalized short films, managing an uninterrupted flow of participants. This result testifies to the solidity of a sonic and technical architecture capable of combining high-level compositional craftsmanship (over 400 orchestral fragments) with the speed of immediate digital distribution via QR code.
