National Museum of Cinema - “year 1914, year 2014 – Two Composers, one director”

  • Buonasera Signorina Bonelli (1906)

  • Buonasera fiori (1906)

  • Troppo bello! (1909)

  • Robinet innamorato di una chanteuse (1911)

  • Maschera pietosa (1914)

Participation in the event "Year 1914, Year 2014", organized by the Italian Cultural Institute in London.

In the heart of Belgrave Square, the films were presented to an audience composed of leaders from the most prominent British cultural institutions, including the BBC, the British Film Institute, and the Royal Academy of Arts.

The sonic operation restored the ritual function of these films: Buonasera Signorina Bonelli and Buonasera fiori acted respectively as the symbolic opening and closing of the evening, welcoming and dismissing guests just as they did in Turin cinemas a century ago. At the center of the program, the frenzy of Troppo bello! offered a showcase of slapstick dynamism through a live duo performance, with my brother Roberto Agagliate on accordion and myself on piano.

The program was completed by the screenings of Robinet innamorato di una chanteuse and Maschera Pietosa.
